Afternoon girls.

While Mr Lucey was cooking the best roast dinner ever (what am I after! a bag but I'll tell you about that later, hehe)  I took some pics of my Russian dolls to  show you. A few years ago my nephew who was only 14 at the time brought me the blue dolls at  the back of the  photo home  from Russia.

He was on a cruise with a school friends family and I got the blue set,  my sister got a red set and His mam got a gold set, I was delighted as I've always loved these dolls.

When I was 15 I got a set of 12 dolls for my birthday which I loved and when the children come along I used to let the play with them, then a few went missing and I'm not sure what happened to the others.

A couple of months ago Alexa saw mine on the window sill and wanted to play with them, she loves taking them apart and trying to put them back together, so when I spotted these tiny red ones at a market in Newcastle just before Christmas I knew she'd love them.

You can see how small the tiny one is, I've stood it on a 5 pence piece, how anyone can paint anything that small is beyond me. Mind you saying that I had a friend who's hubby used to paint lead soldiers to sell and  they were about one inch tall and beautifully painted. I'm sure I have a couple somewhere.

I couldn't resist this wonderful brooch for myself with 5 tiny dollies on painted in a soft  shade of crimson, it looks lovely on my wooly jumpers.

So here we are, teeny tiny baby up to big mammy dolly!!

About the bags, I saw advertised on the Radley website that if you take a handbag into the british heart foundation shop you get a voucher for £30 towards a new Radley bag. Now that's too good an offer to miss exept, and its a big exept, the bag has to be over £150, and I know, I already have two of these bags but a girl can't be seen with the same handbag now can she!!!

I'm off to sweet talk Mr Lucey...

Bye for now

Lucey xx

I love matryoshka dolls, too--my daughter has a couple of sets. My husband thinks it's funny that one of the main reasons I want to visit Russia is to buy more of these lovelies--along with other folk art, of course!

No definitely not, a girl can't be seen with the same handbag, and that offer is just too good to pass up! I love your little dolls. My daughter brought me back some, and I have been in love with them ever since. I haven't seen ones as tiny as yours, they are precious!
