Easter Saturday...

On Saturday we went to our favourite place for the day....York.

It drizzled all the way there but it  faired up when we arrived and  the bunting was out.

The Streets were full of people

buying gorgeous Easter eggs like this one in Betty's,

and lovely Easter bunnies

and  tiny baby mugs with chicks and rabbits on them.

Crabtree & Evelyn was freshly painted in this shade of blue/grey,

and there was the most delicious smell of roses inside the shop.

"Harry" the horse was enjoying the sunshine as he proudly paraded round the Streets.

How does "Mr Lilac" managed to stay still for so long? Mind you as soon as you popped £1 in his tin he smiled and waived.

I loved this canvas and could see it hanging on my staircase but, I didn't love the £325 price tag!

This building is a pub called  "Punch Bowl"  isn't it fabulous.

There was a food market on and somehow one of these massive meringues popped in my bag which we had with summer fruits when we got home.

wonderfull.

Oh I nearly forgot I called in here too!!

I'll show you what I got from Stanley's mammies shop next time,

Love Lucey xx

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for highlighting York!!! I've been to GB several times, but this is where I spent my honeymoon in 2002. Hubby and I had planned to go all over, but once we got to York (he'd never been there) he wanted to stay the whole week. I just love the Shambles, the Minster, etc., so thank you again for renewing happy memories.

Hugs,
Meri

Hello Lucy

I enjoyed your virtual tour of Yourk. Those meringues look delicioud (it's one of my favourite things to eat!)

Last time I went to York was about 15 years ago. I'd love to go back again. Betty's would be one of my first stops.

Warm wishes
