We took the dogs for a lovely walk in the old cemetery where part of it has been turned into a park, and there hiding amongst the trees was Mr Owl, isn't he a handsome chap??
There were lots of fir cones around the masive fir tree just waiting to be picked up..... by me!
Back home I put a candle in a rustic planter and filled it with fir cones
and I put a few in a glass vase and sprinkled cinnamon oil on them, they smell delicious. Of course no walk out is complete without a cream tea, coutesy of Morrisons!! Love Lucey xxx |

Love the carvings, really fab. Great fir cone idea too & topped off with a cream tea, what could be better :) x
Hi Lucey,
Sounds like you had a perfectly wonderful day! I love having pine/fir cones around the house, scented with cinnamon, too. Crabtree & Evelyn used to carry a holiday scent oil that I picked up a few times when I was out there. If they still carry it, you might like it, as it has cinnamon and some other yummy smells, too. It's only in their stores out here during the holidays, but I haven't seen it here lately, so maybe it's discontinued.....sob!
I love your bird cups, beautiful.
Hugs,
Meri
My girls love collecting pine cone - when we went to North Norfolk in the summer we visited Norfolk Lavender and there was a huge fir tree surrounded by cones. That was it ..we couldn't leave till we had collected them all. This takes quite a while when you are 4 & 5 years old ! They no waiting to be painted for christmas. x
