Nature At It's Best

Isn't it typical, red hot sunshine all week and yesterday as miserable as sin!!

We'd planned a bike ride so off we went, despite the dull weather the birds were singing and there were loads of daffies along the lanes and a few chickens too.

By the time I'd stopped my bike and got the  camera out most of them had hidden behind the fence

further along we found some "not so newly laid" eggs!!

Don't know how long they'd been there, but we wern't taking any chances, it would have been nice to find a warm freshly laid one  wouldn't it?

There's some lovely houses in the village, this is my favourite with it's little picket fence and starched net curtains,  there's no UPVC or verticle blinds here, thank goodness!!

There used to be the village Post Office a couple of doors up but it's long gone, the church sit's just behind these houses and the bells were ringing, the lamb's in the field were "bahhhhing" and it's just a pity the sun wasn't shining.

We had a look round the cemetery and we saw these,

looks like a family all laid to rest together.

I have  trip out planned for tomorrow, I'm meeting the lovely Mandy from "Daisy Moon",  we're going to York where we shall spend the day chattering away, drinking loads of tea and doing a bit of shopping, see you when I get back.
