A bike ride...

Yesterday was warm and sunny so we got our bikes out and rode to the next village which is  a couple of miles away

We rode along the country lane and passed lots of "public footpath" signs at the edge of fields and there were lots of new hedges that had been planted since we last went.

we saw some chickens who quickly marched away when I got the camera out

and passed a couple of horses who were munching away on a bunch of carrots

we went round Farmer Brown's farm till we come to the village

How gorgeous is this house? If only I could win the lottery....

There are lots of little cottages all snuggled up and they have aubretia tumbling over the walls it all looks so pretty

and at the back of the cottages there's steps leading down to a little stream

just imagine a picnic on the lawn and paddling in your own stream,

we rode up towards the church, mines the white bike (obviously!)

here it is looking pretty as a picture in the sunshine

last summer we saw a bride walking up here to the church where she'd just stepped out of a carriage drawn by two white horses, how romantic would that be

we took a little picnic in our backpacks and sipped some home made lemonade and in the distance we could hear all the mary lambs bleating

these 5 lambs kept following this mummy but I don't think they all belonged to her!!

"I'm so pretty"

"I'm all itchy"

"I'm watching ewe" lol

we headed back through the churchyard where the graves were dated from 1775,  I find something strangely comforting about chuchyards and love reading the headstones...do you think I'm morbid???

There was a whole family buried in here, can you imagine the cost of something like this nowadays

when we got home we had lamb chops and caeser salad with this yummy cheese and marmite bread, ( love it or hate it??)  then I realised what we'd done, sorry sheep.

Needless to say we both slept like a log!!

Love lucey xx
