The elves and the shoemaker....

I was so excited to find a parcel on the doormat waiting for me when I got back from the dentist yesterday and quickly tore it open

The elves and the shoemaker was my favourite book when I was a child and I've waited far too long to find a copy in fairly good condition for it's age.

Of course I had to pay a fortune more than the original price of....

but......I'm happy!!

I'm looking for a copy of "the party" now to go in my collection, I have quite a few of Rachels books from when she was little and Alexa and I are enjoying reading/looking at them, maybe she'll be a bookworm just like grandma.

Bye for now

Love Lucey xxx

Lovely find! That was my favourite too! I often leave fabric around now in the hope of those little elves turning up but alas no!

Hi Lucey - a few months ago I got my very own "The Party" I was hyperventillating as I opened the package!
Happy searching.
I also got my other fave "Shopping with Mother" both came from ebay - they come up quite regularly but as you say for daft prices - I evntually did really well for about £4.
Love your blog by the way:)

I love the old Ladybird story books, my mum and dad didn't keep all mine but the few they did have I've taken back. The illustrations are wonderful :) x

I have that book as part of my ladybird collection - it was the only one left from my childhood collection. It is tatty & well loved as it was my favourite story.

I have a copy of the Party - not a an early one nor perfect but I buy the books for the pictures.

Do you have a copy of Helping @ home?? That is one I'd like to own - again mainly for the pictures that remind me of my childhood.

Well, I'm glad for you that you found that book. I only recently read that story to my son for his schooling. Such a great read.
