I picked a copy of country homes and interiors on my way home from work today and it's their 25th anniversary and I thought "I'm sure I have a first copy of that somewhere".
There it was hidden at the bottom of a big pile of magazines
it only cost £1.20 back in 1986 and now it's, well quite a bit more, but I think it's still good value. As you all know I love interiors magazines and I'm never happier than when I'm just pottering at home changing things around and making new "bits and bobs"
I think I'll go and write them a letter on my new notepaper and tell them how much I love their mag, what do you think??
Do you have a favourite magazine???
"Happy 25th birthday country living"
and here's to the next 25 years, although I probrably won't be around to see it!
Love Lucey xx

I've fallen out of love with home magazines at the moment although I'm sure this will change and I'll suddenly be buying every magazine I can get my hands on!

I bought the new one today - looking forward to a quiet reading time tonight when everyone else is out.

Wow you're even more of a hoarder than me! Definitely write to them, you might get a prize!
wow how good is that .. you have their first edition.. that will have to be worth somthing in a few years!!
i havnt bought any home mags for months but was having a quick peek through C H &I in our newsagents this morning .. and think i will have to buy it.
this really is the only mag i do normally buy.. ive tried country living but it does nothing for me!!
How organised you must be to have things going back so many years to hand when needed!
You should write in to them Lucey with a pic of those issues side by side, I bet they would print it? Do they have a letters section? I've never bought this one, I might give it a whirl at the weekend. I normally buy country living and Ideal Home and occasionally 25 Beautiful homes but only if its not full of OTT homes with chrome and glass.
It looks fab, you are tempting me to go and buy it!!
Its not at our newsagents yet..had a look this morning..but will defo be buying it!
And well done on having the first issue...its worth sending them a letter...let us know how you get on!

Off to get it today. I keep all my mags Mr D hates it.Have a great weekend Lesley.x
My favourite is Homes & Antiques as they have a bt of everything in it & articles worth reading.
I have a pile of Country Life magazines from the 1960's that I bought for a few pounds at auction. They make great reading & the homes for sale pages are envy making - I know that back then they were expensive but I imagine buying those big country houses at those prices!

My New Years Resolution was to save money and not buy any magazines in 2011 - I have stuck to it but it is killing me - I am so missing my magazines!
I love that mag. it's better than Country Living now in my opinion. More houses and less Welsh cooking! Much better value for money. Amazing how much things date in 25yrs isn't it?
