Monthly make...

I'm in the monthly make hosted by the lovely Annie, of  "the felt fairy"

I made this pretty pink blanket for Alexa, it's keeping her beautiful dollies warm,

This dollie comes with her own "baby" in a sling, isn't she gorgeous??

As I love brooches I made a couple out of this "speckled" wool, to this one I added a lovely "seeds" button and fastened it to my cardigan

and I made another one for my winter coat but with a pretty blue striped button

it's a good way of using up ends of balls of wool and also lovely buttons.

Not much to show for a whole month I know, but I received this book on wednesday so hopefully next month I'll have some hand knitted/crochet  flowers to show you

Bye for now

More gifts...

I saw this gorgeous pram in the window of Bespoke Country in York on saturday, the bottom  of the pram comes down and it  converts  into a pushchair

my mam said she had one similar for me all those years ago they don't make them like that anymore!!

Love  the colour of the  tea cozy with the flowers on top, I feel the knitting needles coming out, it would look nice on my tea pot

Here's a little looky at what I spent my birthday pennies on,
a dressing gown to match my pj's the fabric is lovely and soft

new buttons for a future project and in the meantime I've displayed them on a cake plate

As soon as I saw this bag I knew it was "the one" for me, it's a lovely shade of green and I have a scarf and gloves  the same colour

and radley's tartan coat  matches perfectly (thank you Wendy)

I also got a keyring, the doggies can't wait for a day at the seaside!!

It was quite cold but we had a lovely day I got a few gifts for "birthday swaps" and we saw one of those shops called "appyfeet" they have tanks of fish that nibble the hard skin off your feet YUK!!!

Some lovely handmade presents from  Lisa arrived in the post, a bag for my phone a face cloth and some soap thanks Lisa.

So it's all over for another year but  I'll look forward to everyone's birthday in the "birthday swap"

Notice board....

Look what I found coming through this morning, snowdrops just starting to shoot, can't wait for them to flower as they'll look pretty in the blue pot.

Luckilly  they survived the tremendous ammounts of snow that was laid on top of them in the past month, they must have thought "quick the snow has gone lets make  a dash for it"  lol.

A couple of weeks ago "Roger the lodger" asked me if I wanted to swap rooms with him as he had the big bedroom at the back and I had the little craft room at the front so after about a second I said "YES"

That means I have loads of wall space to fill up so I bought a plain cork noticeboard and stuck on some pretty papers a bloggy friend sent me

and added a velvet ribbon to hang it, and now it's ready for some "snippets" to be pinned on.

Well girls don't forget the giveaway for the CK book in my previous post is open till Sunday (don't know how to do the linky thing)  and now I'm off to meet Mr Lucey as we're going swimming.

Bye

A bracing walk.....

There's nothing like a bunch of daffydowndillies to brighten the place up,

or a bracing walk along the sea front to blow away the cobwebs!!

As the tuck shop is now well and truly closed  and the power walks have started, we walked to the headland for a bit of exercise, look how choppy the sea was and the waves were massive,  I was stood well back as I'm frightened of water and especially of fish!!

There were lots of fishermen out who braved the freezing cold I hope they had their thermals on, one chap caught a huge fish that was flipping about and wasn't very happy.

I'm not sure of the name of these birds but there was loads of them all along the shore and there in the middle was a baby seagul with no mummy in sight....aw bless.

Walking back we passed the church

Imagine living in one of these  houses, the views from the front windows are amazing, yes I can see me sitting with a nice glass of wine  gazing out to sea,  if ever I win the lottery of course, but that's highly unlikely as I don't put it on!!

Who lives in a house like this??

and here's Andy Capp  propping up the bar which is just what we did before walking home to a nice beef broth salad.

Secret santa...

Hello girls,

Did we all have a good new year?

Are we all fit and well and ready to start the new year with lots of  new year resolutions, I'm not going to bother making any as I never stick to them anyway!!, but, I am going to try and shift the extra stone I put on over the past few months, don't know how that happened  but what I do know is I woke up one day and everything in my wardrobe was a size too small!!!

Anyway onto better things, imagine my delight on christmas morning when I opened my secret santa parcel from Lynda at Hookin' with laa laa,

look at all my presents beautifully wrapped in C K gift wrap and a cute card to match, I was so excited!!

There were 3 bars of cinnamon and orange soap, some delicious chocolate santas, who  mysteriously dissapeared just minutes after they'd had their photo taken! A lovely holidays box that had a silver brooch nestled inside and to top it off , tadaa....  a CK keyring and matching handbag mirror in my favourite pattern, didn't I do well, thank you so much Lynda.

Exciting news,  I'm in the birthday swap organised by Lynda so I'm off to have a nosey round all your blogs, and get to know you all and find out what you like... realy looking forward to the swaps.

See you later,

Lucey xx
