Yellow breakfast...

Yellow breakfast, where did that come from I  ask myself??

It all started when I bought a bottle of fresh orange juice from the butcher's in a proper old fashioned milk bottle or should that be orange bottle!!

I plonked it on the table along with our weetabix and bananas for breakfast and I shouted to Mr Lucey "come and get your yellow breakfast" I won't tell you what his reply was!!

It tasted loads better than out of a carton and there was a foil top on the bottle,  now many moons ago when I was little we used to save the foil tops for the blind, I wonder if anyone does this anymore???

Then I found myself thinking what I could have for tea that was yellow but I could only think of sweetcorn and peppers!! All this sunny weather is going to my head.....

Love Lucey x

That all looks so civilised and grown up.

Our breakfasts always seem so rushed - even at weekends.

Thank you very much for my birthday pressies & card.

Haha!! I love that and I love the idea of a milk BOTTLE. I remember the days when the Milkman had just delivered the milk in the morning and everyone rushed to get to it so they could have the cream off the top on their cereals!! And it was normally Dad who got it!!

Mind you, the birds pecking the top wasnt very hygenic was it?:(

I too remember milktops for the blind - at one time in primary school I was given the "responsibility" for washing all the foil tops after our milk break so we could send them off clean. I looove that OJ out of the milk bottle, and it is another memory from childhood - we go to a large motorbike rally each year on a caravan park and they sell that OJ in the camp shop - it's great for a hangover! (I do also think it tastes fantastic)

We used to get small bottles of orange juice off the milkman whilst we were out playing ( only if mom had enpugh money left out of her house keeping!)

happy memories came flooding back of picking the milk bottles off the step - would a little bird have pecked the foil and pinched the cream off the top? I always hoped so - health and safety nowadays would not allow these little birdy indulgences! There is a milkman on our estate who delivers milk and orange juice in bottles like the good old days but his prices are more 2011!

Ooh, I haven't had orange juice in a bottle like that for ages! I saw a milk man the other day actually, was quite sad to see the majority of his milk on the back was in large plastic cartons and not bottles!
